Biodiversity Education for Kids

Team Green Gang

  Mission Statement

Our mission is to educate students ages four to eight about the environment, biodiversity, and ecosystems through interactive lesson plans. We will create an innovative and engaging environment in the classroom to interest students.  Biodiversity refers to the measure of variation of life within an ecosystem, and reflects the health of that ecosystem. Global warming is the projected increase in the average temperature of the planet’s land masses, near-surface air and oceans. Climate change has an effect on the health of a variety of ecosystems in the northeastern United States. It is important to educate young people on the relationship between global warming and climate change and biodiversity losses in various ecosystems- some within their own communities and produce a consciousness among future decision makers about their individual carbon footprint.
